Getting started in Provost!

Thank you to Sherry and Catherine for a warm welcome and full day in Provost!

Our day started with a friendly breakfast at the local Super 8 Motel and a quick tour of mainstreet. The school zone was busy with kids on bikes, parents dropping off and active crosswalks. Fresh lines painted on the track reminded us of the exciting pre summer activities that make up the last few weeks of school.

Once we arrived at the Provost Provincial buildings we were welcomed and given a tour of their enviable facilities including a former holding cell and a cozy and inviting book corner for children!

We spent a full day going through the Roots and Connections curriculum and look forward to hearing the outcome of the plans Sherry has for coffee encounters. It sounds like a eager group of learners have been lined up for the fall.

Some of the good ideas that emerged from this pilot session:
1. engaging an active seniors group for a coffee encounter story telling project
2. announcing the Roots and Connections offering at the Community Awareness Night on September 14th

Stay tuned for more!
